Electrical Safety

Do you have an old fuse board in your home like the ones below?

A modern fuse board offers greater protection for your home against electrical faults. Individual circuit breakers switch off a circuit in the event of a fault. Unlike traditional fuse boards the modern fuse board has individual breakers for each circuit in your property and you no longer need to rewire a fuse when it blows. Resetting the circuit when the fault is resolved is a simple operation, no more challenging than turning on a light switch.

Residual Current Devices (RCD's) are switches designed to turn the electricity off in the event of a fault. For example, if you cut through the cable when mowing the lawn the electricity to that part of the fuse board is instantly turned off, preventing electrocution.

A modern fuse board is far more accurate in detecting minor faults than the traditional 1950's technology, reducing the risk of electric shock to you or your family, as well as reducing the risk of electrical fire in your home.
